Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!
In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday today, here's a writing prompt for your students related to The Hunger Games. Might make an interesting debate...
So what do you think? Post a comment below with your pick & why that character would win.
Did with my students today. They loved the writing prompt. I wrote 24 Seuss characters on the board and the students picked who they thought would win and give three reasons why. Some chose The Cat and the Hat because he could team up with thing 1 and 2, but he is smarter and could control them. Others chose Cindy Lou because she is small and would be able to hide easier. There was also a Sam I AM, a couple Grinches, Max (the dog), and even a Horton. It was a great tie-in, connecting activity for all of them. They really enjoyed it. I don't think Seuss would have approved using his creations for evil though. :) Thanks for the idea.
